Support Us In Supporting Our Community This Holiday Season and in 2021

Our hearts have been lifted by the outpour of support from our community. We ask you to donate, volunteer your time, or spread the word of our services so that we can help more people in need, especially as we approach a time of year that is typically filled with love, joy, and friends & family. We are working tirelessly to ensure that our community enjoys a holiday season filled with all of that and more despite the circumstances of the pandemic. If we can help you or your loved ones navigate the new normal in any way, please let us know.

This holiday season and into 2021, we are working to provide our seniors with easy-to-use technology that they can use to stay connect and video chat with their friends and family. Your donation will go to making sure we can provide our seniors with this tool to stay connected as we continue to experience the isolating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic as well as other care package items to bring holiday cheer to their home and joy to their heart in 2021. 💚❤️

This year has been difficult for everyone. We have needed to pivot from hosting in-person activities for seniors to enjoy an authentic meal and each other's company to needing to provide basic necessities and work to ensure our seniors and other vulnerable community members are not isolated or losing hope. Our volunteers and donors have played an extraordinary role in helping us achieve these goals. We have delivered thousands of care packages that include pantry items, hot meals, Italian flags, and more. Our volunteers have also made countless phone calls to our community members to maintain a feeling of community and help avoid isolation in these difficult times. We ask you to donate or volunteer your valuable time to help us continue our work in supporting and nourishing our community. 🇮🇹

We encourage you to check if your employer has a donation matching program in place to double your donation! Please contact us at outreach@italiancs.org if you have any questions or need any help in determining if your employer will match your donation.

2020 for ICS & Our Community

We, at Italian Community Services, hope you and your families are staying healthy. Between wildfires and Covid-19, 2020 has been far from predictable. When the pandemic began, we knew we needed to move quickly to support not only our seniors, but our greater community as we all found ourselves in a difficult moment in our lives.

Though we were not certain exactly where to begin, we understood that we would be supporting our community much differently than we had in the past. We began by providing necessities and comfort to our community via care packages and wellness calls. Despite the troubles 2020 threw at us, we were able to come together as a community with more numbers and strength than we could have ever imagined.

We need one another. ICS continues to help and support our community. Our Italian restaurants and businesses do not have the customers needed to pay their the employees and their rent. And our seniors and recently unemployed community members need food.

Italian Community Services fills the gap and brings the community together. We purchase food from restaurants and suppliers and deliver them to the most vulnerable in our community.

We couldn't do it without our dedicated volunteers and generous donors. Donors that fund our outreach so that we can provide not only the bare necessities, but items and goods that lift the spirits of our community like Italian flags and authentic Italian food from local restaurants. Volunteers that show up on Fridays to pack boxes of food and volunteers to deliver the boxes around the Bay Area from Redwood City to San Rafael to Concord. With the help of the outpour of support from our community, we have delivered over 5,100 care packages and collaborated with 2 local restaurants. We now have over 40 volunteers have run over 1,000 errands for our seniors and made over 7,200 wellness calls checking in our seniors to not only provide necessary care, but added comfort in this heartbreaking time. This is how we've found hope in 2020, by coming together as a community and showing resilience and compassion.
